WG1 Creating a database and pooled analysis
The group is responsible in creating the templates for collecting data from the 51 laboratories worldwide who agreed to participate and to create combined database. Every lab will receive invitation letter, template for the method details, template for the study details and excel worksheet template for comet assay data. The data will be entered into a unified database compatible with the statistics software to be used for the analysis.
This working group is responsible for pooled analysis of comet assay data in order to obtain definitive information on the reasons for inter-individual variation in levels of DNA damage.

WG2 Technical inovation and implementation
This work group will be responsible for inovation and implementation of the cost action and training course results through guidelines and SOPs that will be further optimised and developed in collaboration with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and companies

WG3 Ring studies
Working group will organize ring studies in order to test the robustness of standard protocols.

WG4 Guidelines and SOPs
This working group will make new guidelines and SOPs in order to minimise differences betwen laboratories.

WG 5 DNA repair
Working group is responsible for developing the comet-based DNA repair assay as a biomonitoring tool.

WG6 Different cell types
This working group will assess the suitability of different types of human cells for comet assay analysis. .

WG7 Planning for the future
Working group will aim to create proposals for investigations based on the findings of this COST Action, and employing hCOMET’s innovative approaches and methods
